Visit of Dr. Somasundaram Subramanian, IPS ( Rtd ) to SMILES. He served with distinction in the Indian Police Service from 1958-1992 and held prestigious appointments of Director General of Central Reserve Police Force, National Security Guards, Founder-Director of the Special Protection Group; Director of the National Police Academy; and also held senior positions in the Intelligence Bureau, Central Bureau of Investigation and Andhra Pradesh Police. He served in the Diplomatic Service as the Minister in the Embassy of India, Germany.
He was decorated with PADMASRI in 1986, President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service and Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service. After retirement in January 1992, he is associated with many Social Service Organizations and is devoting his time to Social work.
